Exporting To XLS/CSV/TXT Formats in Discoverer 10g (10.1.2) Plus or Viewer Fails with 'Error Operation Failed'

Symptoms
While trying to export to : XLS/CSV/TXT formats with Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.x) Plus or Viewer, you receive the following error:
ERROR:
The export operation failed. See the application log or other errors on the screen for more
details.
-Operation Failed.

Cause
This is caused by the temporary directory being full at 100% capacity.
Solution
Clean up the temporary directory defined for exporting temporary files. This may be performed by deleting the dc* temporary files.
The files are written to the directory that is set as the temp directory (TEMP environment variable) in the $OH/opmn/conf/opmn.xml file.
Another option is to change the location of where the dc* temp files are to be written to a larger directory or a directory that is periodically purged via a scheduled / cron job.
