Oracle GoldenGate does not support the capture of Oracle Databases in SNAPSHOT STANDBY mode.

Goal

Oracle GoldenGate does not support the capture of Oracle Databases in SNAPSHOT STANDBY mode.

Solution

Oracle GoldenGate does not support the capture of Oracle Databases in SNAPSHOT STANDBY mode.

Extract supports capturing of records from online redo logs & archive log files in primary or logical standby database only. Extract verifies the value of PRIMARY or LOGICAL STANDBY in the db_role column of the v$database view. The default on a primary or logical standby database is to read the online logs. Extract automatically operates in ALO mode if it detects that the database has a role of PHYSICAL STANDBY.
